The Bijou Theater, built before speakers & microphones, was designed for optimal sound. During the field trip, students will identify design features that create the best experience for the audience, such as the curved shape of the ceiling & balcony. Bijou Theatre Andrea Berry


Our Knox County Schools K-5 STEM Ts kicked off #NationalEngineersWeek at DLD. They participated as learners in LEGO Spike lessons that challenged them to solve a real world problem by applying physical science ideas to build a prototype, create a code, & test! Andrea Berry KCS STEM


Elementary students attended a field trip at the Tennessee Theatre today with a performance by the Knoxville Symphony. Students paid special attention to design features of the theater. Andrea Berry

Did you know that the Northern Bobwhite Quail has experienced a dramatic population decline in recent decades? This guide explores the key factors behind their disappearance and highlights different habitat management methods used at the park. Andrea Berry


Does this look like an ideal habitat for the Bobwhite Quail? By acting as Wildlife Biologists, students will evaluate areas of the park to determine what needs done to improve the habitat to increase their populations. Andrea Berry


After collecting data from their field trip, students will develop habit management plans to create an ideal habitat for the Bobwhite Quail. Will they remove invasive species through prescribed burns or disk an area to promote growth of native species? Andrea Berry
