Well Scillies is over for us for another year, not a classic but a good selection of birds none the less. Highlights were Isabelline Wheatear, Tawny Pipit, Blyths Pipit and Olive-backed Pipit - we were just missing that one big mega.......

This Hoopoe was always wary on Tresco, Scilly; however, once the crowds moved on it became a little more obliging. One of two different Hoopoes this year on the archipelago. #scilly #tresco

Great weekend back down south, called in on the Ferruginous Duck at Draycote on way down, then a Friday trip to Eldernell produced a roosting Long-eared Owl, 50+ Cranes near Manea and finally the Lesser Scaup at Needingworth

This Black Guillemot decided to come out of the water in front of us at the Bow Fiddle Rock, one of my favorite Scottish birding sites (taken in May24)

Then there was the incredible Marvelous Spatuletail. Views down to mere inches thanks to the fantastic set up at the small private reserve, Al Refugio del Colibrí Espátula 3/4

A visit to Morfa Madryn produced good but distant views of the Green-winged Teal plus plenty of wildfowl and waders, plenty of Chiffchaff and Goldcrest at the sewage works but no sign of Firecrest whilst we were there
