Kathryn Goodenough is a Principal Geologist at the British Geological Survey and Deputy Director, International. Her work focuses on research and international partnerships around the critical minerals required for the energy transition.

Tracy Shimmield is the British Geological Survey Director for the Lyell Centre. Since 2006, her research interests have focused on the impacts of mining on the marine environment, and she has worked in Papua New Guinea, Chile, and Norway.

It has been an excellent first week in Brazil for the British Geological Survey team. Brilliant discussions with our Serviço Geológico do Brasil colleagues followed by a superb workshop on the #Lithium Valley challenges & opportunities organised by UK in Brazil🇬🇧🇧🇷. And finally to the field!
