Pleasure to welcome 🇪🇺EVP for #GreenDeal Maroš Šefčovič🇪🇺 to Ottawa for the United Nations #plastics treaty negotiations. The EU wants to drive forward global action to fight against #pollution , protect human health and the environment, and develop a circular, sustainable plastics model.

A good exchange with David Cooper UN Biodiversity on building momentum towards #COP16 . Climate and biodiversity crises pose an existential threat to our wellbeing and entire economies. No time to lose to restore nature.

We need decisive global action to help the plastics industry shift towards a circular, sustainable business model. #TeamEurope has a good story to tell. E.g. 🇪🇺 action on single-use plastic products is good for the environment + creates new market opportunities.
