With all the recent commotion, I ended up not sharing the lab's first picnic/hiking trip. We had a blast! 😎 Seems like a cliche, but having the chance to guide sharp, dedicated, and enthusiastic people is truly one of the best parts of being a PI. Happy to celebrate our team!

Ishmail Abdus-Saboor NIH needs major overhaul, especially w/ regard to the content of grants and how grants are reviewed. There is a reason they created "Pioneer" and "Transformative" award mechanisms... because the standard study section approach d/n favor innovative science. Favors extremely

Lab Christmas party! Seemed appropriate to celebrate a great year (and our first successful surgeries!) with tasty treats, hot cocoa with marshmallows, and a Secret Santa 😁 I hope the building and learning we all did this year will bear fruit in 2025!

President Trump and Elon Musk’s funding cuts to groundbreaking medical research do NOT Make America Great. That’s why I’m on the Senate floor introducing a resolution pledging support for NIH & asking for immediate passage. Watch. x.com/i/broadcasts/1…

We are super happy to present our first preprint - the effect of our Rethinking Naturalistic Behaviour Workshop - where we look more critically at the term "naturalistic behaviour" and point to its vagueness and inconsistency in its use. 1/n

Thrilled to see this great work by X-less Wenhui Zong out in Nature Neuroscience! It was a pleasure to contribute to this, especially as the findings are wonderfully counterintuitive and provide surprising insight on the circuit bases of abstract feature representations during learning!
