Last fall, we at NYU Steinhardt launched a group to bring together faculty, students, and staff across four departments (admin., leadership + tech; applied stats; applied psych; teaching + learning) around ed policy. We recently had our official launch! steinhardt.nyu.edu/news/nyu-stein…

If you (or a student) are interested, I'd love to talk about our new program. Our faculty have a wide range of methodological expertise (psychometrics, ML, Bayesian methods, causal inference, text analysis, and more) and are focused on leveraging these to solve applied problems!

This reminded me how much grad trainees in statistics (who do statistical computing) have so few formalized opportunities to learn the "computing" part. I've been revamping our statistical computing course to address this. Feedback from students (and faculty) has been positive!
