Out Vertigo angustior surveying in coastal Suffolk again. Nice new populations of the little snail. But almost as interesting was this 13 spot ladybird (Hippodamia tredecimpunctata). Last Suffolk record (on NBN) was pre 1930. So a hundred year gap. Which was nice..

Rybaxis longicornis, Trichocellus placidus & Agonum thoreyi from marsh along Lady's Island Lake, Wexford last weekend.

Heterosphaeria patella on old Angelica sylvestris stems at Lady's Island Lake, Wexford. Stems were host to a range of spiders, diptera pupae (inc. potentially a species new for Ireland), springtails & carabids.

The extent of Three-cornered Garlic (Allium triquetrum) in south Wexford yesterday was quite shocking. Large stretches of road verges, field margins, hedgebanks and this graveyard in Our Lady's Island covered in dense swathes.
