This govt is so petty & so anti Māori, it’s all they seem to talk about these days. Maybe the Govt could focus on funding health budgets properly and not cutting staff, not increasing prescription charges and not underfunding GPs which is forcing them to increase their charges.

What a Prime Minister says, matters. Saying 88% of Māori kids can’t read before they go to high school, is a lie. If it was an accident it’s extremely poor & lazy. Due to all the other anti Māori stuff, I’d say it was a dog whistle, but I hope it’s not. Kids deserve better.

I completely understand name suppression to protect victims and to protect the family of the accused. However name suppression can stop other victims coming forward. It can also mean other people are exposing children to a potential offender without knowing.
