hex.pm/packages/ex_cl… just hit 2m downloads. I started it in 2016 and it hit 1m in December 2021. My weekend learning exercise seems to have a life if its own now. Still joyful working with Elixir too. Thanks for all the support. #myelixirstatus #cldr #elixir

github.com/elixir-cldr/cl… will have its first hex.pm release this week. Locale aware name formatting. It’s really rather cool (full credit to the Unicode CLDR team). Latest addition to the ex_cldr family of libs.

Image 0.28 is out brought to you by Andrew H. who implemented warp_perspective using Nx and Vix showing how far numerical computing and image processing has come in Elixir. See elixirforum.com/t/image-an-ima… for more info and example. #myelixirstatus #image

The three most valuable books as I've been writing code over the last couple of years: Astronomical Algorithms (Jean Meeus), Fundamentals of Digital Image Processing (Jain) and Calendrical Calculations (Reingold & Dershowitz). Only the last available digitally sadly.

Any recommendations on a *the* go-to book for learning Linear Algebra from the fundamentals upwards? (I learn best by reading and coding but a good video course can help too).

I'd add reading and absorbing the ISO8601 full spec parts #1 and #2 has been amazing as well but in a very different way :-)

With CLDR 43 (cldr.unicode.org/index/download…) launched this month, ex_cldr and 14 other related libs for Elixir have been updated, polished and published. See elixirforum.com/t/ex-cldr-comm… #myelixirstatus #cldr

Localized verified routes have landed in ex_cldr_routes in the verified_routes branch. Brave souls to test are very welcome. See github.com/elixir-cldr/cl…

Ever wondered about the history of the Unicode character ⍼ (RIGHT ANGLE WITH DOWNWARDS ZIGZAG ARROW)? Neither had I. But its fascinating if you're like this kind of arcana. ionathan.ch/2022/04/09/ang… ionathan.ch/2023/06/06/ang…

Good article on integrating Rust and Elixir for image processing by Hassan Raza Siddiqui at hassanrsiddiqi.medium.com/pixel-wars-eli… Elixir image (based upon libvips) might help too github.com/elixir-image/i… #image #myelixirstatus #elixir

Person name formatting comes to the ex_cldr family this month. Launching at the Elixir Sydney meetup on March 20th. More than you ever wanted know about names around the world and how to address people in the most appropriate and engaging way.

Published an update to hex.pm/packages/unico… today that does dictionary based word breaking for Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Lao, Khmer and Burmese languages. That was fun!
