If clubs rely on one-off, luck of the draw replays to survive, the industry is fundamentally broken. Replays shouldn’t be sacred for that reason. But give the EFL a proper fair deal before you scrap replays. Do these things in the correct order and you don’t get a backlash.

Why is an official club sponsor selling tickets on a resale platform for costly amounts, including away games where you needed 24 previous European away credits? Any explanation?

Crystal Palace have an incredible knack of upsetting Liverpool on the pitch but their fans are always classy. Impeccably observed minutes’ silence and none of the usual exasperating shouts from the away end. Sounds simple but means a lot, especially today.
