This recession is going to be weird. With so many job openings right now, we are more likely to see businesses remove offerings than employees get laid off. The data won’t reflect what the workforce sees happening.

Re: Alaska Special Election If everyone that voted for Begich first filled out a second choice, Palin needs 63% of those votes to win. If half of Begich voters left the second choice blank, Palin needs 77% of the second votes to win.

Alaska Elections: The narrative that Democratic voter turnout skewed the results in the primary doesn't quite work on its face. We'd have to dig a lot deeper into those Undeclared and Nonpartisan votes to really test the hypothesis.

We won’t know the official numbers until November 23rd, but it’s pretty clearly going to be Dunleavy, Peltola, and Murkowski with the wins.

After the update from elections last night, Palin needs 87% of the Begich\Bye voters to pull ahead of Peltola. If 14% left the second rank blank, or if Peltola picks up just 7% of those voters, Peltola wins.
