Here is Dr. Merrick's turnaround, the actual monster of the story. He's all about image. Fake tan, hair plugs, put together but not too buttoned up and he wants you know it.

Broken glass, teeth in weird places, odd shapes and amalgamated different anatomies. There was supposed to be a patch of bees on its 'neck' as well, and also embers emanating from it's mouth with an internal fire inside of it, but I didn't really hammer those ideas home.

Holy smokes this is so charming.
