This evidence didn't come easy, requiring Deogratius and his joint Ifakara Health Institute Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) UCC Ireland team to cover a huge, largely wild tract of southern Tanzania, largely on foot and living out of backpacks, over two long years:

Stakeholder perspectives on the effectiveness of the Ifakara-Lupiro-Mang’ula wildlife management area in Southern Tanzania by Lucia Tarimo at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) and her broad team of collaborators at Ifakara Health Institute and @ucc: doi.org/10.1016/j.envc…

Lovely work by Lucia Tarimo Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) documenting the many challenges faced by a nicely institutionalized community-led conservation initiative in one of the worlds most spectacular and biodiverse ecosystems, in a resource limited but nevertheless innovative tropical country.

None of this excellent work by Lucia Tarimo Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), as part of her PhD at UCC Ireland with vital support from Deogratius at Ifakara Health Institute, would be possible without the generous support of AXA Research Fund, SEFS@UCC, Irish Embassy Dar and Irish Aid
