In Year 2 we have been learning about the parts of a plant and what each parts job is. We created a picture of a plant and labelled the key parts; petals, stem, leaves and roots!

Today Year 2 started learning about lines of symmetry! We had a lesson exploring how to find and spot lines of symmetry and we rotated around 3 activities; folding on shapes, mirroring leaves and painting minibeasts, folding to find the lines of symmetry! 🦋

Congratulations to our Year 2's who achieved the Shining Light Award this morning in celebration worship! We are so proud of your hard work this term! ✨

The children in Year 2 have written minibeast factfiles and chose their audience as their grandparents! Thank you so much to all the grandparents and parents who came into the classroom to see the children's work! Hopefully you learnt some new facts about minibeasts!🦋

Today, the school council visited The Well for a VE Day event, met 100-year-old WRNS veteran Celica, rode in a vintage car, and spoke live on BBC Radio. A powerful, hands-on history lesson they’ll never forget. #VEDay #WWII #HistoryAlive

This afternoon, Year 2 have had a fantastic time pond dipping at Rockery Close. They found lots of different minibeasts in lots of different habitats. The children were super excited when they found newts in the pond🐞🐝🦋
