The track “The Linda Martell Show” on Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” album features the voice of Leesville, South Carolina native Linda Martell.

Martell was born and raised in South Carolina and was the first commercially successful Black female artist in Country music.

I recently switched to a new therapist and it’s been interesting seeing the differences. I feel her digging deep and she’ll literally ask me a question, let me answer, kindly tells me “I hear you”, and then will look at me and simply hold space for me. That alone had me in tears.
