Y10 GCSE Geography pupils took their lessons to the Ouzel Valley for some physical fieldwork this week. Working with the Parks Trust, they carried out four different techniques and had the opportunity to link it back to the topics they are covering in class.

Sunflower class have been enjoying their first topic 'Me and my Family' where they have been exploring what they look like and sharing pictures of their family with their friends. It is so lovely to see all of our Nursery children settling in so well!

As part of their 'plants' science topic, Year 2 have been weeding and planting daffodil bulbs outside the front of primary. They can't wait to see the daffodils bloom in the spring!

We held our second careers fair this week and again proved a great success. The pupils were able to talk to the many exhibitors about possible future pathways.

A group of Year 11 pupils were fortunate enough to visit Delta by Marriott this week. They learnt about the hospitality industry with hands on activities such as mocktail making, housekeeping, making hotel beds and how to leave the room decorative before guests arrive.

Y8 and Y9 were lucky enough for Zoe from Think Maths to come into school and give us an insight into maths from a different perspective from bar codes to birthdays to text messages.

Year 3 and 4 - Careers / Enterprise Day -The pupils were given the task of creating their own theme park thinking about the opportunities that will be open to them once Universal Studios opens in Bedford in 2031.

Y6 have been learning about the circulatory system for science this half term and had the exciting opportunity to watch a heart dissection for their fabulous finish for the unit.

Year 7 launched off to the National Space Centre in Leicester for a truly stellar trip. They explored the solar system and constellations in the planetarium.

Year 1 visited the secondary site last week as part of their fantastic finish to end the exciting topic of our school, in Geography. The children represented the school well as they sensibly walked down to the secondary site.

Parents and carers were welcomed in for our Y4 Art workshops. Parks and Beethoven classes enjoyed creating mythical beast eyes from clay linked to their learning about Greek Mythology. Thank you to all those who attended – we hope you enjoyed it as much as the staff and children!

Our Y7 girls had their first Netball game against MKA this week. The final score was 15-1 to KHP! Their was so much talent on display and we are excited to see this team in action again.

Our Y7 girls had their first football game against MKA last week. The team were excellent and won the game 3-1. Well done girls, keep up the great work.

Year 3 had a fantastic time during their Discover Arts Award day! The children learnt dance routines and performed a series of dances inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, showing off their creativity and fantastic teamwork skills.

Sunflowers Class (Nursery) have had such a fantastic first half term. The children have settled beautifully and made some fantastic friendships.

As the Fabulous Finish to their Rivers and Coasts topic, Year 5 enjoyed a local trip to Ouzel Valley Park. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience first-hand what they have learnt about river features, as well as studying plant life in the local area.
