Current observations indicate that Tropical Cyclone Hidaya has made landfall on the coast of Tanzania. However, there is another depression developing behind it, which the Department is monitoring closely.

The Tropical Cyclone "Hidaya" has greatly weakened and dissipated after making landfall on Mafia Island in Tanzania. There is no longer a threat of a cyclone, but normal Masika rains are still expected in some areas. Good news indeed.
