india. I had my first black, woman doctor last year. I was complaining of unbearable chest pain and the 1st time at the ER, doctor told me I probably just pulled a muscle and the pain should be gone soon, it didn’t. 2nd time, I had the black Dr. and she found out I had a clogged artery
I think some people really take for granted for much work it is for educators to set up meaningful, engaging lessons for their students over zoom. There's a bizarre narrative that online teaching is easier for educators, but I don't know a single teacher who thinks that's true.
Grateful for Harriet Washington Toby Norfolk, who spoke to my "Bias, Prejudice and Discrimination in Health Care" & "Clinical Ethics" classes at #mizzou #SHP from her books "Medical Apartheid," "Carte Blanche," & "A Terrible Thing to Waste." Students and I more enlightened & inspired.
