The Hawai’i legislature has passed a bill that legalizes banning Airbnb.

Both chambers have approved the legislation, which lets local governments pass bans on short-term rentals, most notably Airbnb.

Governor Josh Green has indicated he’ll sign it.

Apple just announced a $110 billion stock-buyback program.

At the same time the Department of Justice is suing the company, claiming it runs an illegal monopoly.

Stock buybacks were illegal market manipulation until 1982. They need to be banned again.

I hope this is true. But it brings back my core criticism of this government. They don’t care or think much about actual governing. They are focused only on the fight they want to have on any given day, not on the impact on real people.

Great, the UCP did the right thing and reversed their decision to cut funding for the low-income transit pass.

But they deserve no kudos.

They thought they could get away with an attack on some of our most vulnerable neighbours.

I cry with you Naheed Nenshi this program saved me & my kids. I really do believe they are trying to eliminate an entire population and I am going to keep saying that because I can’t come up with any other logical reason that they are doing these things to the seniors & unprivileged

Bussing in these places is their jurisdiction but not the cities?
