Gukesh has always had that resilience and this time it really paid off. Still, mind boggling throw from Magnus who you would bet your house on to win that position. It’s completely understandable why he got so mad.

At the technical meeting of the World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships. Seeing many of the fide ops team running around gives me super strong WCC vibes and nostalgia 😭

The concept of the World Rapid and Blitz team event is actually really good. There were so many kids and amateurs who get to play alongside their heroes. In the blitz, you even get a guaranteed chance to play them. The recreational board is typically helmed by the sponsor -

After this rather high praise, can any kind folks send me pictures of my team mates? We could not find a single match picture, and only found 2 random post games one 😅

A position from the book that I like to give the kids - White to play and win. The first move is quite easy. The rest of the sequence, not so.

I had thought Karsten Muller’s QGD Effective Middlegame training would be a normal puzzle book but what is this first page 😂 Already looking like a fantastic training resource for advanced players

Just played this game on chesscom and luckily wasn’t playing against a certain world champion or would certainly be accused of cheating 😅

Nice to see Guki proving his doubters wrong again. No fuss, no drama, just goes about doing his job. Mentality monster this kid is. To think there are still so many people questioning his cred.

Ashwath Kaushik, who turns 10 in August has made his first IM norm at the very strong 10 ème Open international de Porticcio, France. I’m trying to remember what I was doing at 9 😭

Chess teaches logical thinking. This position was taken from the Encyclopaedia of chess endings. White to play and win if the rook is on f6 and f4. It’s a draw regardless of who to move if the rook is on any other square down the f-file. Don’t comment if you “solved” this using

Incredible achievement by young Divya! Congratulations, and to her team and family as well for this fantastic result. Given up asking Indian chess to slow down 😂
