Pro Tip: If you need to go to the DMV... Make an appointment! I was in and out in 20 minutes today. I'm sure there were people in the walk up line that won't even get helped today.

If you aren't entertained by this Storm/Aces WNBA game, then you simply do not appreciate basketball. These last possessions in regulation have been amazing. Time for OT.

Dear Parents, You're right. Coaches do play favorites. They play the players that are committed and coachable. The players that are disciplined and dependable. The players that are talented and accountable. The players that are resilient and respectful. Regards, Playing Time

Youth basketball thought Practice design matters a lot Are you creating practices that kids want to come back to? If heavy on drills & light on games, that answer might be NO At youth ages, kids signing up for basketball the next year is a WIN, not necessarily winning 🏆

This is the basketball hill I will die on as a coach. The shooting % difference is astonishing when you actually track it.

This is my biggest gripe with youth leagues. Too much caring about W/Ls, too many brackets where winning matters, too much emphasis on state tournaments and not enough time spent on skill development and just playing.

Giannis is outstanding: “There’s no failure in sports. There’s good days, bad days, some days you are able to be successful, some days you are not, some days it is your turn, some days it’s not. That’s what sports is about. You don’t always win.”

Have said for a few years that coaching HS basketball is the hardest level of coaching. This list of realities is comprehensive and accurate. Throw in the increase of lack of support from school/district for HS coaches and it becomes a tough job.
