Fourth graders at SCE were hired as detectives today to name “suspects” (polygons) using evidence of their attributes. It’s amazing how a few classroom decorations and teacher dress-up can impact student engagement!

We used a simple “speed dating” 🤣 set up to talk with several mathematicians in the room about our questions and misconceptions from a recent geometry checkpoint. Without being told specifically to do so, the Ss used vocabulary, justification and reasoning to explain-mind blown!

Our career fair was the perfect finale to a fun college and career week!

Last week, Station Camp Elementary held their “Sing Tennessee” concert led by the full fourth-grade class of 179 students. The show took guests through the history of TN with art & dance. Tributes were given to Gov. Bill Lee, Dolly Parton, & Peyton Manning, to name a few.
