I am praying for those who always wanted to be dads, and aren't, and don't think they ever will be.

I am praying for those who have children and it doesn't look anything like you thought it would.

I am praying today for everyone whose relationship with their own dad is so complicated that this day feels like a kick in the chest.

I am praying thank you for all the Gay Uncles, the coaches, the volunteers, and the family friends.

I am praying today for all the dads who wanted to be better than their fathers, for you who succeeded and you who didn’t.

I am praying for the sperm donors and giving thanks for their generosity and holding their complexity.

I am praying for every father incarcerated by the demons of fear, hatred, and profit separating you from your children.

I am praying today for you whose dads have gone on to the other side and left you here alone.

I am praying today for the dude partners of bio-dads, for the trans-papas, birth-papas, and papa-mamas who are hit with the word "real" and have to look over their shoulder.

I am praying today for every father who has lost a child and knows that a phone call or a card isn't coming.

I am praying today so hard for all of us-
