My book 'SYSTEMIC: How Racism Is Making Us Sick' is now out in the US, as well as the UK, & I've had the pleasure of speaking to lots of interesting people on both sides of the Atlantic about the health harms of racism & what we can do to tackle this urgent public health crisis🧵

One vision of Indigenous futurism is alternative history. A time line where Captain Cook never makes it to Hawai‘i, Cortés never arrives at Tenochtitlan in search of gold, and the Niña, Pinta, and Santa María are still trees planted in the earth nationalgeographic.com/culture/articl… Dr./Prof. Keolu Fox

This is rich - one of the primary reasons scientists don't have a lot of time to think is that @nature and its ilk have promoted a culture where the primary goal of science is to produce bloated Nature papers that require lots of time and money, but little thought, to produce.

I’m grateful to the many researchers who spoke with me about what the future of Indigenous microbiome research should look like, particularly the Indigenous researchers who trusted me to share their histories and work nature nature.com/immersive/d415…

I love this nature article by Sam Jones, PhD on careful considerations to human microbiome research, especially on consent, benefit sharing, commercialization, avoiding stigma, questioning data ethics norms, and calling question to health and digital equity for Indigenous peoples.

Just read a 384 page book from cover to cover. Proud to say it’s my own. Writing is such a dissociative process. Grateful to my editorial team for believing in what the manuscript could inspire about how all hope is not lost when it comes to climate crisis + racial justice!
