I just dont understand why my neighbors who can attend meetings should have extra veto power beyond the ballot box as to whether I can erect solar panels or have more households living near me.

“One of the strangest phenomenons I’ve experienced since I’ve been on council is how the people with housing have convinced the people without housing that the people who build housing are the problem.” 👏🏻👏🏻 @melton4raleigh theassemblync.com/politics/mayor…

Really bonkers that the Prop E TALKING POINT is ‘let’s make sure the BoS can still vote on affordable housing’. Prop E maintains the status quo so that BoS can keep voting to block housing and NIMBYs can keep suing to kill housing.

Final pitch: My city supervisor campaign offers a new direction for San Francisco. We held my opponent accountable on the issues. When he couldn’t defend his record, he went low with outlandish attacks. But we went high with a vision to create our best San Francisco. Join us.

My latest column: San Francisco voters are angry, but they didn’t vote Tuesday in a “burn it all down” kind of way. They backed moderate candidates, but approved car-free streets and spending on transit, schools and libraries. Voters want a city that works.sfchronicle.com/sf/bayarea/hea…

San Francisco has spent 50 years enacting anti-housing policies — generating a debilitating housing crisis. Certain Supervisors are now pointing fingers at the state, saying we’re not doing enough for affordable housing policy & funding. That accusation is simply false: 🧵

Yesterday's big Board of Supervisors hearing on the housing element was supposed to provide clarity. Instead, it was a farce. YIMBY members are furious. We are not going to accept a housing element which blatantly lies to the state.

It’s time to remove the remaining Central Freeway, south of Market Street. Its removal would be a huge benefit to San Francisco. That’s why I just sent Caltrans HQ a letter asking it to evaluate the cost & logistics of tearing this remnant freeway down.⬇️ drive.google.com/file/d/1qDBIKN…

This is such a good piece of explanatory journalism on a question that has been nagging me and I’ve seen answered nowhere else: nymag.com/intelligencer/…

I would like us to stop pretending like legislation needs “60 votes to pass”. Every single time this issue comes up, journalists should point out that the legislation only requires 50 votes to pass, but that some senators would rather filibuster it and stall all operations.
