Everyone in this home is safe tonight. Their 6YO grandson is the hero that woke the house and gave them time to move to a safe place. This large tree ended coming to rest on the bed he and his mother were sleeping on minutes before.

Although it was a clear day out, if you look closely at the top image, you will see gray plumes running from N-NW to S-SE, from fires today. One especially stands out, which was the devastating #carolinabeachfire right along the Cape Fear coast early this aftn.

We stand in heartbreak and solidarity with Mount Tabor High and WS/FC Schools tonight after they experienced the loss of a student in a school shooting. As we unfortunately learned this week, the ripple effects of violence touch so many in a school community and beyond.
