Teaching Python w/ imagi and doing a code-along, lesson on calling functions. This pedagogy, code-along, gathering input from the class, quickly reveals student misconceptions. Great opportunity to strengthen, fix & develop concepts w/students. Now they are off & running!

Grade 5 Ss asked me this week how come we don't have Computer Science more often? We love this class :) Schools that do offer CS are lucky to have the opportunity to give all Ss access to a joyous CS curriculum. In middle schools, CS classes meet at random intervals, if at all!

Love using CS Discoveries from Code.org to build grade 6 Ss Computational Thinking skills! I really check their work and they build great habits. This student exceeded my expectations in Lesson 7 using shapes to construct her robot face. Her code is impressive! CS Teachers Association (CSTA)
