Elementary students should not be taking standardized tests because testing becomes the focus of education instead of learning. We take away their creative genius and excitement of learning, playing, & creating. We develop test takers instead of problem solvers and innovators.

Maybe if we rename recess and free play as "SEL", creativity, and innovation building time we might realize that they're foundational to learning and not a break from it.

We’ve been learning all about heating and cooling…and it was finally time to make SNOW! Their giggles + joy as they explored, made observations and shared their learning was priceless!!! AND they definitely took a ziplock baggy home to share the fun with their families. ❄️☃️
