Drinking doesn’t make you more creative (see paper 1), but bars do... Areas that banned 🍺 during Prohibition had a big drop in patenting as the informal social networks in bars were disrupted (paper 2). As networks were rebuilt elsewhere, patenting resumed in new categories! 🍻
