Requested World Health Organization (WHO) to provide TOR & specs for seamless implementation. This lab will expedite high level drug quality testing as I push to ensure high quality healthcare.

Productive meet today with SPC, NMRA, MSD & SPMC re medicine shortages in #lka. Appreciate all stakeholders involved for commitment to eliminating bottlenecks & meeting immediate medicine requirements efficiently. Stark difference between petty politics & dedicated, hard work.

Productive meeting with 주스리랑카대한민국대사관 Amb H.E. Miyon Lee, where a wide array of issues were discussed. Housing scheme for doctors who practice in peripheries & replacement of outdated equipment were 2 areas we sought support for. #Korea has always been a precious ally to #lka.

Significant milestone today as #lka received a state of the art MRI unit donated by H.E. Mizukoshi Hideaki of Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka（在スリランカ日本国大使館) to NHSL. This will expedite diagnostics & deliver greater accessibility to more people. I thank the gov & people of #Japan for this incredible gesture.

Grateful to the PM of #Bangladesh and the Health Min. Zahid Maleque for their swift response to my direct request, by generously donating 54 essential medical items, easing our short-term drug shortage. We're committed to exploring lasting solutions through a gov-to-gov MOU.

In a further shakeup, Prof. Jayantha Jayawardane has been removed from the board of #lka medical Council. Despite me initially appointing him, there arose a conflict of interest. Following counsel from SLMC & on par with the Act, a decision was made to terminate his services.

Historically, uni grads from other unis were prohibited access to sit the ERPM because the SLMC refused to recognition. After lobbying for it personally, a #lka cabinet decision was made to recognise the top 1000 medical faculties globally for prequalification to sit the ERPM.

Issue re Isolez Biotech Pharma AG Ltd & deceptive methodology employed to get a WOR for recent Immunoglobulin supply to #lka state hospitals now escalated to the AG’s Dept. Hope upstanding members of media report verified info as opposed to politically motivated disinformation.

Currently attending COP28 UAE w/President RW_LK, who delivered a telling address on the urgency for Climate Justice. Based on this policy, I'm looking forward to presenting #lka's proposal for a Climate Justice Forum to build capacity & shore up funding for this growing need.
