Happy Halloween! I finally got that maid my mother-in-law has been telling me to hire. Unfortunately, the only one I could afford is dead!

When I said I wanted to live in exciting times, I meant book deals and robots that could wash my windows and morel mushrooms magically popping up in my backyard. Not AI takeover and political looney toons.

A surprisingly good end to a brutal year for me: I finished writing a book after buckling down to hit a deadline, breaking new personal word count goals, & prioritizing it over some holiday duties. It's the best first draft I've ever written. Already in the hands of my 1st beta.

Just when I thought I had hit peak author stoicism, I got my first agent nudge, and now I'm glowing. Partial turned into a full request on Thursday night. Hadn't gotten around to uploading it yet, so the agent sent another message: "Can't wait to read the remainder." Ok, enjoy!
