There's a potential (I stress, 'potential') grain market flush coming. Prepare yourself mentally for such a move. It will be advantageous to keep calm and level-headed.

Nice streak of warm days in ND this last week. According to the models, as the hurricane exits, it'll pull cold air down into the void thru the first week of September. Corn and late maturing soybeans could sure use a warm and frost free second half of September to mature.

We need to be asking God to work in the hearts of farmers that are under immense stress. All of us know 5 farmers that we can pray for every day. Let's all set aside 5 minutes everyday praying for them and their families.

Hope is not lost when it comes to the grain markets. It looks bad and definitely feels bad right now, but always remember price swings. In the correct context, it can swing a long way on the charts.

Needing fuel for harvest? Heating oil chart deserves attention. There's some risk in the coming months with the potential for a move to $3.40. (*This is only an opinion based on probabilities.)

The fact that ND has turned drier allows for an increased potential for an earlier frost/freeze if temperatures dip during the early morning hours. Moisture stabilizes temperatures and visa versa.

Higher interest rates and reduced federal spending is what it will take to have the desired effect. Neither one is popular and so it will be the last resort.
