We are SO excited to welcome our new Kindergarten Lions to Whittier and we couldn’t wait to meet them, so Principal Layne, VP Williams and Liaison Taylor hopped in the car and went to all 40 houses of our new Lions and said hello!

Got to celebrate the young men of East High School Soccer, Missouri state champions! Coming from all over the world, East’s team is the pride of Kansas City and represents our community and its work ethic. We were honored to host them on the City Hall roof and at Council today.

Whittier Lions enjoyed the Winter Wonderland presented by Mr. Seithel and the Whittier City Year Kansas City team!

Our Whittier Elementary Lions just had their individual Kansas City Royals Literacy League rollout, where students found out their Classroom Champions are 1B Vinnie Pasquantino & C/OF MJ Melendez! KCPS BorderStar, KCPS James & KCPS Banneker have also held similar exciting rollouts!

Whittier’s rising first graders are ready with 100% growth in ELA and Math!

Bells! The Penguin Dance! Our young elementary music holiday programs are a fun, smile-filled event for all! Whittier Elementary held its K-2 Holiday Program on Friday for families!

The KCPS Education Foundation recently dropped by @KCPS_Whittier to surprise them with a grant to fund essential sports equipment & educational resources for a 9-month program, to empower young athletes to build confidence, discipline, and a foundation for future success!
