A short timelapse with the Aurora last night.. Amie Wheeler even made an appearance shooting from the dock to get that photo. It was so calm out, not even the slightest of wind 🙌 #aurora #timelapse #pnw #wawx

A perfect #SoNorthwest day with the kids out for summer break: exploring the extra low tide 🦀 near the Edmonds Washington State Ferries dock, then enjoying a delicious lunch at Ivar's Clam. Another very low tide for the Sound Friday ~ 1 pm. #WAwx

Lightning strike in front of the North Sister yesterday afternoon in Central Oregon. While not the most photogenic storm it was still awesome to get out and finally see some thunderstorms roaming the high dessert. #orwx

Incredible Lenticulars over Mt. Baker 😮 After shooting nearly 3k photos this evening, a few cars passing by, and the heat distortion from over 40 miles away, the lennies sure put on a show #wawx #pnw #nature

A TSUNAMI WATCH means a tsunami is *possible*, but not imminent or certain. The NW Interior coastline is also under a Tsunami Watch, with arrival between midnight and 1:30 a.m. This could get downgraded to cancellation or upgraded to a warning: prepare to take action if needed.

The "red squiggle" you see is the tsunami's impact, showing that the waves are not behaving as they normally would. Only minor impacts expected near the WA shorelines--including stronger currents/choppier seas--but please stay away from the water until the all clear is given.

Our forecasters are monitoring smoke from #wildfires as it spreads across parts of the US. Whether you're in the air or on the ground, smoke can reduce visibility for aircraft and also make the sunlight look a little strange. Here's why the sunlight might look odd. #avgeeks
