Agree. I'd argue that for kids who come from homes containing males who are not good role models, or no adult males at all, it's particularly important those kids see that men too can be kind, caring, responsible, nurturing - that these are not just female qualities.

Rick Morton I think there is also an ‘essence’ that is shared. I listened to your Robodebt book and have been an NDIS provider for almost 10 years. 2018/19 something changed in the Agency. I don’t know other public services, maybe they are all mean - but the NDIS got meaner then.

I'm not sure why Rick has apologised for overdoing the Robodebt comparisons in an article where the architects of Robodebt themselves are implicated in developing practices to raise debts unlawfully at a second agency.

To not comment on this matter specifically is completely unacceptable from the Albanese Government, who are seemingly content to allow the right-wing media to say whatever they like about the NDIS and have no issue with throwing someone off the scheme as a human sacrifice. Feral.

Why is “single mum” used as a slur to say something negative about a woman? How is this information at all relevant? How about “the parent who stayed”? This is the sort of language that needs to change in a society that seeks to address gender equity. Shame on the Daily Mail

Karen Rick Morton It fundamentally goes back to a senior public servant’s actions. What message does that send to the rest of the public service APS Commission let & those in her own agency, ie, cut corners, ignore policy & procedures, staff don’t call it out etc. Very Robodebt - free to corrupt.

This is yet another reason to be critical of DigitalID and the smoothbrained U16 Social Media ban. Anonymity is a double edged sword. It protects the Nazis but it also protects the whistleblowers, the dissenters, the oppressed. Note how it's not the Nazis that get punished.
