This is wholly unsustainable and what layoffs effectively do is push marginalized reporters out of the industry for good.

My entire timeline is people of color getting laid off from the LA Times.

The L.A. Times closed the Washington Bureau in an election year and on the day of the New Hampshire primary.

We desperately need more journalists dedicated to covering AAPI communities — not less.
