Today, NJHumanServices Commissioner Sarah Adelman with Attorney General Matt Platkin & Acting MVC Chief Administrator Latrecia Littles-Floyd (New Jersey MVC) announced new tools to help law enforcement more effectively communicate with individuals with an autism spectrum or communication disorder diagnosis.

Today was a big day for the law enforcement and autism communities in New Jersey! Individuals with autism and communication disorders can now get a discreet notation on their NJ license or ID cards and carry an additional “pink card” to further explain their communication needs.

Deputy Commissioner Kaylee McGuire and Assistant Commissioner Seifried were honored to join The Arc Ocean County and Brick Mayor Lisa Crate to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. Activities included a proclamation presentation, self-advocate Q&A, and a facility tour.
