My favorite character, The Duke, from the newer Resident Evil game is like this. He’s super helpful, always there when your character needs stuff. He says funny stuff sometimes and really efficiently protects himself from vampires. I loved him.

He is imperfect Representation, of course. Visibly designed by people who want him to be seen as grotesque. But he is heroic by all measures one could judge him by. Also I like the way he dresses and the way he carries himself, and how he’s sort of vaguely magic.

He has a really nice and affable personality and you can tell how much of an intellectual he is. He’s very bookish as well, which is fun because he’s literally sitting in a wasteland of snarling monsters, just reading pleasantly in his Ultimate Protection from Vampires cart.
