Last weekend the Kawate Lab attended the Upstate New York C. elegans meeting and Sarah Chan (Codd) showed everyone what she’s been up to!

Very important question for #structuralbiology twitter: would u rather 1. Freeze & clip 100 grids (u only get 8 clipping tools & the ethane needs to be condensed) 2. Set up 10, 24-well hanging drop crystal trays (each well has 3 drops & u have to make fresh buffers)

Said goodbye to a wonderful undergraduate yesterday with a toast on the rocks! While in the lab, Xinyue Liang made great progress purifying & structurally characterizing a membrane transporter! We will miss her & wish her well on her grad school adventure at MIT!

Being a PhD candidate is sweet, don’t you think, Sarah Chan (Codd)?? Congratulations to Sarah (& thanks for passing so Toshi could treat us to ice cream at the Dairy Bar)!!
