Shocking: India just deported 40 Rohingya refugees by dumping them in the Andaman Sea, asking them to swim to Myanmar. Vineet Bhalla spoke to Myanmar's civilian government in exile, which confirmed the incident. scroll.in/article/108241…

Just in: Supreme Court today dismissed a plea against Rohingya deportations even as they face genocide. Pushing refugees into sea is not just illegal, it’s inhumane. India is bound by Genocide Convention. Sovereignty is no excuse for abandoning constitutional morality. Shameful.

Faiz Ahmad Faiz was arrested for sed1t1on and wrote the poem 'Hum Dekhenge' against General Zia-ul-Haq. Today, anyone who sings the same poem risks being charged with sed1t1on in India. Welcome to the Indian subcontinent.

Outrageous! Does a BJP MLA have the legal authority to demolish poor Bengali homes in Delhi? Under Modi's rule, it seems some believe they're above the law, wielding unchecked power. When will we hold our elected officials accountable for such blatant disregard for citizens'

I wrote about the growing trend in India where slum clearance operations, cloaked in the rhetoric of national security, risk turning every Muslim neighbourhood into a site of suspicion and every informal settlement into a target of arbitrary state action.

How long will the ugly face of censorship continue to prevail in India? Even after decades, the truth remains buried. This film must be released — the world deserves to know what happened in Punjab and to learn about the life and sacrifice of Jaswant Singh Khalra.

A tragic loss of lives, deeply frightening and heartbreaking. My thoughts are with the loved ones. In moments like these, we hold on to hope for accountability. But accountability demands questions but who is asking them?
