As part of a joint initiative of the MSFDA and Inter-University Centre for Astronomy&Astrophysics's Astronomy Centre for Educators, a group of 45 educators visited the #GMRT for a workshop on the theme of "Astronomy, Science & Society". These are being organized across Maharashtra (📸: Jameer Manur + #GMRT).
About 80 students from #Krittika, the #Astronomy Club of IIT Bombay, visited the #GMRT on 8th March. Among the highlights of this visit was an up-close exploration of the C03 antenna, where Kaushal Buch, one of our #GMRT engineers, described the antenna setup and its operation.
In the session titled 'Radio Astronomy in an increasingly crowded spectrum', Kaushal Buch, National Centre for Radio Astrophysics presented an overview of hardware based real-time RFI mitigation techniques, including the statistical filtering technique employed at GMRT. About 16 delegates from the LIGO India Gravitational Wave Astronomy Instrumentation Winter Workshop (hosted by Inter-University Centre for Astronomy&Astrophysics) visited the #GMRT on Sunday. They were given a tour of the C03 dish by #GMRT engineer Kaushal Buch, and the control room by operator Shriram ramane.
#GMRT scientific and technical staff, including S. Sureshkumar, Kaushal Buch, Sanjay Kudale, Mangesh Somwanshi, and Jitendra Kodilkar, attended the Scientific and Technological Advancements at TIFR (STAT) 2025 symposium at TIFR Hyderabad, showcasing the latest work at the GMRT.
