Christ this data is so grim: "The troubling decline in conscientiousness. A critical life skill is fading out — and especially fast among young adults."

My friends who are Air Canada Flight Attendants are posting things like this. Solidarity with them all. The average FA works 30 hours a month unpaid. This practice needs to end here and now.

1. As a consultant analyst that generally presents to the C-suite of organisations, I am often asked to produce short, concise explanations of both biological and geopolitical risks. Regarding Covid-19, I use the same summary with both C-level clients and friends:

Air Canada Imagine a multi-billion dollar publicly trading corporation NOT paying their attendants for: ❌ Safety checks and cabin preparation ❌ Assisting passengers with boarding ❌ Pre-flight safety checks ❌ Helping passengers with special needs ❌ Deplaning procedures ❌ Ground time

Air Canada settled with its pilots and won’t engage with its exploited flight attendants, almost all women. It counts on the federal government taking away their right to strike. That would be a historic miscalculation for the Liberals.

I find it astonishing that Air Canada Flight Attendants have not been being paid for work they do before & after the flight is in the air. I read it equals 35 to 40 hours per month (?). That’s a full week’s pay if true. How many hourly employees would do that? Is it all airlines?

🇨🇦: Nope. Air Canada refuses to pay flight attendants for hours of work they’re required to do. Flight attendants are only paid after leaving the gate until gate arrival. Not for boarding or de-boarding, safety checks, or helping w/overhead baggage. How is this even legal?

Breanna Needham (@breanna_needham) 's Twitter Profile Photo

What Air Canada needs to realize is that almost no one who is facing a cancelled vacation or return flight this month (myself included) is going to blame the flight attendants for wanting to be paid fairly.

Air Canada short-changes flight attendants by approximately $11,000 annually. Hourly rate = $26/hr Unpaid work = 35hrs/mth Total 26×35×12 =$10,920 This is an outrageous abuse of its employees. No other profession would accept such blatant exploitation. #CUPE #aircanadastrike

What I would give to go back to a time when the only question before the end of a US-Russia summit wasn’t just how catatrophically the US president had sold out his country and his allies.

By charging $100 for COVD vaccinations, the Province of Alberta is undermining efforts to prevent a disease that killed more Canadians than the number of Canadian soldiers killed in World War 1. This is unconscionable and dangerous.

"Another 11 hour day, paid for 7" A flight attendant posts, yet Air Canada made their record $22.3 billion and CEO Rousseau made $12 million. Did I point out they're mostly women?

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ This was one of the classiest, mature, honest, and serious campaigns I’ve seen in a long time. Bonnie is a winner no matter what. She reminded Canadians what we deserve in politics.
