First #forensiclinguistics talk of the year is done! I presented my work on predictive modeling of written threats. I was worried my stage fright was going to get the best of me but I pulled through and it all went really well!

I've said it before and I will say it again. Issues surrounding Policing will NEVER change if there's no acknowledgement of history. Lack of trust with communities and permissive environments within areas of Policing didn't appear out of nowhere.

German bureaucracy at its finest: being told you need to attend a course offered by a govermental institution even though that same institution has granted you permission to teach said course. 🙄

All these years of people warning not to get tattoos because they're permanent but not once did they mention the real concern: awkward placement when getting a 💉.

A suicidal move from German academia👇🏼Rather than increasing the # of exceptionally few TT positions this “reform” proposes to limit postdoc periods up to 3 years, after which postdocs will either have to find a permanent position (that are almost non-existent) or leave academia.

10 years ago today, I presented at my first conference, and was finishing up my first semester of teaching. It's crazy how time flies, but I'm looking forward to what the next decade will bring.
