In recognition of the #ShinetheLight2024 campaign run by London's Abused Women's Centre (@endwomanabuse), #TVDSB stands in solidarity with women and girls affected by gender based violence.

Violence against women & girls remains one of the most prevalent human rights violations in the world. Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, which marks the launch of the UNiTE campaign, an initiative of 16 days of activism.

Recently, members of the SLP team facilitated professional learning for EAs. One session had a focus on the importance of intentional conversations and their effect on oral language and literacy development while the other offered practical ideas to support AAC learners!

Human Trafficking Awareness Day in Canada has been observed since 2021. Every year, February 22 is a day to encourage Canadians to raise awareness of the magnitude of modern day slavery in Canada and abroad and to take steps to combat human trafficking.
