It's very soggy at Arid Recovery Great news for the desert ecosystem, superbly primed to take advantage of good times. Less great for the team who are hampered by quagmires, road closures & mozzies. They're doing their best to get on with it. 📸Kylie McQualter & Molly Barlow

Macca the bilby came out in the heat for the Roxby Downs Christmas Pageant 🎄 So delighted to have the biggest event of the year back and to see the whole town come out for the street party. Arid Recovery ute scrubs up alright with bilby ears and nose too 😉

I want to take issue with Arid Recovery being labelled a “cat food farm” 🫤 but it does seed the landscape with so many dispersing natives that cats are drawn to patrolling the perimeter. Another challenge to balance for safe havens

Still a long road to real recovery for Australia’s threatened species. Safe havens are great, but just a stop-gap. Important to recognise in the debate about de-listing species.
