Senior Horticulture students Eyemouth High School kicked off the New Year by sowing chilli seeds. We'll be comparing germination in our heated propagator vs individual humidity domes aka poly-pockets 😄 All being well, we'll have healthy plants for our May sale 🤞🏻

It's spring time Eyemouth High School! We're so delighted with how well the lettuce and tomato plants are growing, that we've set up a second hydroponic unit with a fresh offering of veg and herbs. Tis amazing what some extra light and a good supply of nutrients will do.... 🤔

Delighted to be back Ayton Primary School to learn about electricity: P1-3's showed excellent teamwork as they grouped photos of objects according to electricity source, while the P6-7's used their highly developed experimental skills to investigate conducting & insulating materials 👌🏻

Well done Eyemouth High School Senior Horticulture students on a very productive 2 days! We took cuttings from 2 different succulents, to grow in 2 different compost mixes (+ rooting gel). With a 3rd compost mixture, we sowed chocolate cherry vine tomatoes-so excited to see the results

Another fab afternoon of electricity Ayton Primary School! After matching circuit symbols to their correct names, the P6-7's built some simple (& not so simple!) circuits. Meanwhile, the P1-3's started work on their electrical safety display & I am so excited to see it next week.

Today, the brilliant Senior Horti students Eyemouth High School started to #GrowSomethingDifferent: onions from seed. Although we've grown (& are growing) onions from sets, this is our first time trying seeds. In case you're wondering, that's vermiculite sealing in moisture-not snow!

Part of today's Horticulture lesson was taken straight from the pages BBC Gardeners' World Mag 😄 Loving being in the greenhouse & seeing the first signs of new life 🌱 Eyemouth High School, we're so lucky to have "all weather" Horti opportunities, providing a welcome break to the intensive folio work.

It was a wonderful afternoon! Thank you Eyemouth High School for supporting these endeavours - it's such a privilege (and joy) working with some of our youngest, young people 🙂 #SBCway

Just over a month ago, Eyemouth High School Horti students sowed their first onion seeds, courtesy of BBC Gardeners' World Mag - and look! Actual seedlings! So excited to see if we can grow them to maturity (& then the kitchen 😋)🤞🏻 #growsomethingdifferent

Huge thanks Howick Hall Gardens for a fantastic morning enjoyed by all our Eyemouth High School Horticulture students. We loved seeing the nursery with Robert, the Head Gardener, followed by tea (Earl Gray, of course) & cake. Many thanks DYW Scotland for making such an inspirational trip possible

Exactly a month later and look! Thanks BBC Gardeners' World Mag for the seeds and inspiration 🙂 🌱

So it seems that our Schlumbergera truncata, aka Winter / Christmas cactus, has flowered just as our seniors prepare for their exams. Definitely time to flourish 🌼 You've got this Eyemouth High School S4 - S6 💪

It's time to shine! Wishing all Physics students, Eyemouth High School and across Scotland, all the very best today. You can do this.

Outside learning ❤️ Interdisciplinary learning ❤️ Learning Support ❤️ I do love Eyemouth High School ❤️ {Photo shows a student cataloguing the plants in our school fruit cage and then drawing a bar chart to display the data.}

Practicing what I preach: flashcards - part of Eyemouth High School #revisionrevolution. And for me, helping to learn the taxonomy of 20 plants in the garden as part of Learning @ The Botanics #certificateinpracticalhorticuture

Thank you Eyemouth Harbour for inviting Eyemouth High School Horti students to be part of your stunning Sea Garden project. We loved working with community heroes to fill the exquisite planters with such beautiful plants. Thanks, also, for the most delicious Giacopazzi's ice-cream 😋

Welcome back to all students Eyemouth High School - we're looking forward to seeing you in school hearing about your holidays 🙂 And welcome to all our new students - we're looking forward to meeting you 🙂

Happy 40th Birthday Berwickshire Marine Reserve 🥳 On behalf of all the students & staff Eyemouth High School, may I offer our congratulations on reaching this significant milestone. Thank you for all the fantastic science & educating that you do-it's a privilege to work with & learn from you.
