would like to say a BIG thank you for everyone’s support to encourage children to read for pleasure - because it improves life chances.

Can’t think of a better way to spend than in the company of Rob Biddulph at the brilliant High Hazels Academy - the children chose books, met an author, thought about their reading preferences all in their fab school library. Perfect.

It’s !🥳
We’re putting children’s voices first. They’re asking us to let go of pressure & expectations to give them a choice – and a chance – to grow up with the life-changing benefits of . Show us how you're reading for fun, your way!

This was an excellent conversation to be part of. Looking forward to it continuing into June. Already looking forward to more time in Amy Greatrex’s inspiring company

Can’t wait to start getting this out into the world. We’ve had some amazing reflective conversations with practitioners rooted in research, children’s voice and our own reflections as readers. It’s the good stuff.

Incredible wealth of experience in the room today - what a privilege to be there. World Book Day UK 📚 will be the richer for this piece of work and always lovely to work with Debbie Thomas

There are a lot of words about the impact of art but this is what we are talking about- today my son got out his sword and shield to fight the pollution in the dance piece we were watching. He moved in time with the music and cheered as it was defeated. It was pure magic

A very sad loss. Someone who acknowledged, celebrated and listened to everyone in the company. I learnt a lot from his consultative and considered leadership and the partnership between him and Vicky Heywood. There was magic there.

The problem Rishi Sunak is not the degree but the assumption that education is a financial transaction. Work on young people having & pursuing interests then you get a passionate thinking workforce rather than one that thinks it’s owed something whether they have a degree or not

Wonderful Poetry By Heart finals. Reciting a poem is impressive but the finals showed more than that. The young people had quickly formed a supportive community- understanding something more fundamental about each other because they had insight into literature that moved them.

Really looking forward to spending the day soaked in poetry and hearing the interpretations the young people have made.

Assuming I’m not the only parent of a 4 year old with no local family who is now trying to make a 52 week job fit into 38 so their kid gets an actual holiday once they go to school PregnantThenScrewed. I’ve got an amazing flexible employer but this is absolute nonsense.
