If you ever tell teachers to teach a curriculum without making revisions you're essentially teaching them to ignore the very children their expected to teach by privileging curriculum "experts" above teacher knowledge. #thethoughtpartner

Dawn Gelking, BA, MS Ed Ed Justice Research & Organizing Collaborative The webinar will include discussion of how the texts are sampled and how the ratings are/can be done on your own programs/resources (as well as how to work with low-scoring materials) ...but I believe the report focused on myView because it looked at programs for K-3.

A Culturally Destructive #Curriculum likely centers White or Eurocentric ideas & culture throughout text, and reinforces #stereotypes and portrays people of color in inferior & restrictive ways. To learn more read NYU Metro Center's Lessons in (In)#Equity here: bit.ly/3MyGn0p

When a new curriculum is imposed on teachers but then fails to show good results, the typical response from on high is that those teachers "must not have been implementing it with fidelity." A good essay on why that phrase is insulting and dangerous: goo.gl/6RNwC3
