"Can Yugabyte become the defacto database for large-scale, cloud native applications?" asked Bruce Rogers for Forbes. Discover the answer in this in-depth profile of YugabyteDB CTO Karthik Ranganathan! ⬇️ hubs.la/Q01MW-wb0 #distributedsql #opensource #cloudnative #scaling

In short YugabyteDB scales ACID not by waiting on 2PC but - consensus for row / index entry replication - distributed transaction table for multi-shard tx (replicated with consensus) - optimization for single-shard/zone/region tx with local tx table - fast path for single row tx

On 19 July, at YugabyteDB, attended a very nice postgres #meetup talk by Andy Pavlo (@andypavlo.bsky.social) of CMU Database Group OtterTune For my related #Query Processing & #Optimization talk see links in bit.ly/CMoTalks Met many old friends after years and made some new friends 😀 #SQL #ML #ARIES

With three talk tracks & great sessions from Airwallex, Authlete, Helpshift, Navi: UPI, Investments, Loans & Insurance, NTT DATA, Inc., Rakuten, Singtel, SKA Observatory, SRA OSS India, Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore, Tagbangers, Inc., and YugabyteDB, this year's #DSSAsia has something for everyone!💡 Register now!⬇️ hubs.la/Q02tk-R_0

Love it!! Franck Pachot is simply awesome 👏 And for those of you in the US, he is planning a road trip here, so stay tuned (not ever sure if I’m supposed to say that but oh well, I’m excited 😜)

📢 We are excited to be part of 'SQL At Scale SF' TOMORROW! An expert panel (including YugabyteDB's Karthik Ranganathan & APX's Niall O'Higgins) will be exploring single-node RDBMS limits, distributed SQL, & database schema optimizations💡 Register now! hubs.la/Q02VJlSg0
