In short YugabyteDB scales ACID not by waiting on 2PC but - consensus for row / index entry replication - distributed transaction table for multi-shard tx (replicated with consensus) - optimization for single-shard/zone/region tx with local tx table - fast path for single row tx

Thanks for the call out @MarkCallaghanDB, we do stand by our claims 🙏🙏🙏 BTW, a sneak peak at what's coming soon: we're bridging NewSQL and Distributed SQL in a single product (saw your other blog about these categories).

Love it!! Franck Pachot is simply awesome 👏 And for those of you in the US, he is planning a road trip here, so stay tuned (not ever sure if I’m supposed to say that but oh well, I’m excited 😜)

This made me laugh 😀😀: > Larry even inserted “RAFT” in his 23ai ppt - Reliable, Redundant, Replicated and Fault Tolerant That said, I'm OCD when it comes to spelling it "Raft" versus "RAFT" (as in not using all caps). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raft_(alg… Maybe its just me 😀

English is a funny language - and there are some words I use frequently but have to be extra-careful with. Like "assess" - missing one 's' at the end makes it an unfortunate mistake if its the title to a slide 😀
