Real ecologists are not anti-livestock. They will demand more nature-friendly practices, but will acknowledge the benefits of well-managed herds. Those hostile to animal farming as a matter of principle are using ecological activism as a smokescreen for an ideology of "purity".

We tend to think of weed pressure suppressing yields because of competing for water and nutrients. We often miss thinking about how the presence of weeds indicates soil dysfunction that causes yield drag, even when the weeds are 'controlled'. Spraying the weeds doesn't

No-till has become synonymous with regenerative agriculture but the reality is that it's a Trojan horse for the excessive use of herbicides. At least 93% of these no-till acres rely on synthetic herbicides, with the total pesticide burden from these systems reaching 285 million

90+% of a crop comes out of the air. Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen. Most of what makes a crop is free. Water, sunlight, carbon dioxide. The highest form of agronomy is optimizing the utilization of the things that are free.

Americans rationalize everything. Many adults still eat cereal and oatmeal for breakfast. Their cereal/oatmeal box contain a AMA healthy “red heart” label. These adults will tell you with a straight face….their cereals/oatmeals are healthy foods…..good for their bodies

Prepare to be amazed. Agronomic insights from a first principles perspective. Looking at root causes, and identifying how to shift them. Beats the large AI engines by a bunch on agronomy related topics.

This field was kind of given back to the owner in the early 2000’s as Grandpa couldn’t get much beans or 🌽 Last year the hay operator was done with it. After many suggestions of burning it…plowing it. I just planted into it…full bush late May. This corn crop is epic.

Nah, it isn't. It's a bunch of paired molecules pretending to be a food. The mindset of "food"(R)-tech bros is too reductionist to even begin understanding the secret of cooking a good meal. People will always prefer butter. Even margarine didn't change that.

With people embracing beef and rejecting the fruit-veg-grains axis for health, we are seeing a 180 in thinking on healthy food. And we will not go back. Because once people experience the super-charged health benefits of meat, eggs, butter, they never go back. It's a one-way
